Celebrating British Science Week

By Helen Morphew

British Science Week was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the role of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in shaping our world. As part of our commitment to inspiring the next generation of engineers, one of our electrical engineers recently attended the Roedean Careers Fair in Brighton to provide advice and guidance on careers in building services engineering.

Engaging with students, we discussed the various pathways into engineering, from apprenticeships to university degrees, and highlighted the exciting opportunities within the building services sector. Harriet shared insights into the challenges and innovations driving the industry, encouraging students at the all-girls school to consider careers in this dynamic field.

Our participation in the Roedean Careers Fair is just one of the ways we support STEM education and career development. We are also proud to run the Mid Sussex Science Week, which this year marks its 10th anniversary! This long-running initiative continues to inspire young minds, fostering curiosity and creativity in science and engineering.

British Science Week is a time to reflect on the importance of STEM in our everyday lives and to encourage the next generation of problem solvers and innovators. While this week shines a spotlight on science and engineering, our commitment to inspiring future engineers and promoting careers in building services continues all year round. We look forward to engaging with more young people and supporting the future of our industry!
